Post-harvest of onion due to fertilization with micronutrient

The onion (Allium cepa L.) is the third most cultivated vegetable and has great socioeconomic importance worldwide. Because it highly perishable greater demand than supply, many post-harvest losses occur, of them caused by inadequate storage conditions affecting bulbs quality. This study aimed to evaluate postharvest quality as a function fertilization with micronutrients, using cultivar “Rio das antas”. experiment was divided into two stages: field laboratory. In field, an installed between June December 2019 at Experimental Farm Rafael Fernandes, in completely randomized blocks nine treatments four replications. consisted combined doses B, Cu Zn. laboratory, experimental design 9 x 4 split-plot design, (micronutrients Zn) were arranged plots times subplots (0; 20; 40 60 days after harvest). Bulb firmness, soluble solids (ºBrix), total sugars pungency evaluated. data subjected statistical analysis time, Sisvar program, applying regression analysis. application 1-4-1 kg.ha-1 Boron, Copper Zinc, respectively, presented best results for pungency, firmness during storage, this being recommended treatment not significantly different from higher doses, promoting more efficient use inputs.
